Required for October 2020
NIST is looking for an effective and collaborative admissions representative to join our admissions team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting prospective families and responding to inquiries for general information about the school, academic requirements, and the admissions process by collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure prospective students receive timely and accurate information regarding the school. The candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree and some familiarization with international school’s admissions process. Outstanding communication in English (both written/ spoken) is also expected. The Admissions Representative reports to the Director of Admissions.
Professional Expectations:
Customer Service/Public Relations
- Assists with answering telephone enquiries and makes appointments with prospective families
- Manages the admissions email account, replies to families enquiring about admission into NIST International School
- Arranges and leads campus tours for prospective families, explains the admissions process, school curriculum, philosophy and values
- Responsible for emailing families admission packages
- Receives and checks completed applications, informs parents of any missing documentation
- Responsible for sending out letters with regards to acknowledgement of applications, acceptance and rejection of placements
- Organizes and represents NIST International School at the annual international school fairs
New Family Management
- Organizes orientation for new students (August, January, and mid-semester entries)
- Liaises with different departments regarding a new student’s first day of school (family ID cards, send information to leadership and teachers, etc.)
- Ensures that different school sections and whole school departments (e.g. nurses, IT Department, Library Department) receive information on new mid-year entries
- Organization of new student school services
School Developments
- Attends parent workshops on curriculum in order to keep up to date with new developments
- Meets regularly with curriculum coordinators to ensure knowledge of all school programmes
- Reads NIST publications and bulletins to be informed about NIST school life, events and activities
Qualifications & Other Requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s degree holder
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- English language proficiency is a must both verbal and written; fluency in other languages would be desirable
- Valid passport or Thai ID Card
- Experience working in an admissions office is preferred
- Customer service experience
- Strong presentation and communications skills
- Ability to work under pressure and have a customer-service oriented approach with the public
- Good telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work in a team oriented/collaborative environment
- Ability and flexibility to manage multiple tasks/projects at the same time
- Detail orientated
- High level of computer literacy is a must (in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to: Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability to work during some school holidays
